Reinterpretation of Treatise on Cold Damage Diseases through Correcting the Misunderstanding of Concepts

《伤寒论》是以病立论,以病统证,以证统方,以方统药,先辨病,后辨证,才用方药治疗。《伤寒论》六病即六大类型疾病的简称,包括了人体脏腑病、经脉病、络脉病、六淫病、营卫病、气血病、津液病等,可见《伤寒论》所论不只限于六经病。而近现代《伤寒论》研究中,概念的混淆使用已经影响了对《伤寒论》理论的正确表述,因此应该及时纠正误解概念,才能重新阐释《伤寒论》。

Treatise on Cold Damage Diseases put forward theories and summarized syndromes according to diseases, and gave formulas corresponding to syndromes and medicinals related to formulas, and it focused on disease differentiation first, syndrome differentiation second, and then drug treatment. Six diseases in Treatise on Cold Damage Diseases are the shorter form of six major types of diseases, including visceral diseases, meridian diseases, collaterals diseases, diseases due to six excesses, diseases in the nutrient and defensive aspects, qi and blood diseases, body fluid diseases, which indicates that diseases discussed in Treatise on Cold Damage Diseases are not limited to the diseases of six meridians. Since the confusion and application of the concept in the modern study has had unfavorable effects on the correct interpretation of theory of Treatise on Cold Damage Diseases, only by timely correcting the misunderstanding of concepts can we correctly reinterpret Treatise on Cold Damage Diseases.
