A modern "Mimi":A conversation with Italian soprano Fiorenza Cedolins

就在与萨尔茨堡音乐节联合制作的《波希米亚人》正在上海歌剧院、上海大剧院紧锣密鼓地展开排练、装台之时,受《歌剧》之遨,我有幸采访了意大利著名女高音歌唱家菲欧伦扎·赛多琳斯（Fiorenza Cedolins）。在萨尔茨堡音乐节艺术总监佩雷拉的推荐下,赛多琳斯成为了《波希米亚人》上海演出A组咪咪的人选。

Italian soprano Fiorenza Cedolins played Mimi in Damiano Michieletto's modern production of La Boheme,a co-production of the Shanghai Opera House and Shanghai Grand Theatre.Despite her tight schedule last month,she sat down for a short interview with Opera. Cedolins has appeared in the most illustrious opera houses around the world,including La Scala,Covent Garden and Metropolitan Opera.To her,there is no difference between traditional and contemporary productions;what is of primary importance is the quality of the work.She had also participated in Graham Vick's post-modern take on Otello at the Zurich Opera House. The soprano stresses the importance of having good rapport with the director and conductor on the overall dramatic concept.Only after that has been established does she bring in her own viewpoints.She doesn't like being passive in any production.'I need to be fully involved in it.On stage,I'm Mimi,not Fiorenza Cedolins anymore.' Cedolins returns to China,to appear in Beijing in March 2013 in Otello,conducted by Lu Jia.
