摘要 在简述飞行时间-二次离子质谱技术(TOF-SIMS)的基本原理、技术特点和优势的基础上,阐述了近年来TOF-SIMS应用于气溶胶表面化学表征、气溶胶粒子化学组成深度剖析、气溶胶表面化学反应、气溶胶粒子表面毒性,以及气溶胶污染源排放特征与污染源识别等方面的研究进展,并对TOF-SIMS技术在大气气溶胶研究中的应用前景进行了展望。 The present paper intends to make an application advance review on the time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (TOF SIMS) in the field of atmospheric aerosol. The so-called TOF-SIMS is a well-established technique joining the advantages of secondary ion mass spectrometry with the flight-time instruments characterized with extremely high lateral and depth resolution, as well as the high sensitivity together with the unique nature for isotopes, low-Z elements and fragments of molecules. The technique can be operated in Static-TOF-SIMS mode or Dynamic-TOF-SIMS mode, under which the action manners of the primary ion beam may hit on the surface of the various aerosol samples. It can also be used to the atmospheric aerosol studies in such aspects, as aerosol surface analysis, single particle depth profile, aerosol surface reactions, etc. both at home and abroad to improve knowledge about the characterization and the atmospheric chemical behavior of the aerosol and carry out single particle characterization. Though successful in application, it has been greatly confined due to some serious problems unresolved, including the collection, preparation, and data analysis of the samples. To overcome the current problems and promote its application, we believe the focus should be put on the research of the following three aspects: (1) Establish the mass spectrometry database for studying the elements, ions, molecular fragments from the aerosol particles in the TOF-SIMS process to achieve the efficiency of fast and accurate analysis; (2) Create the production methods of the relative target material standard to realize the quantitative analysis of TOF-SIMS; (3) Combine the TOF-SIMS technique with more conventional aerosol analytical tools to deepen and broaden the areas of its application.
