乾隆三十年至乾隆四十年之间,是蒋士铨戏曲创作的一次高潮。在此期间,他流转于江浙一带的书院,共创作了五部剧作。蒋士铨中年书院时期戏曲创作高潮的形成除却与他早年的坎坷遭际与南归之后的复杂心态密切相关外,也有一定的客观促因:江浙地区戏曲品评之风的盛行、演出活动的激励以及众多剧作家汇聚所形成的客观文化环境都对蒋氏的戏剧创作产生了积极的影响。

In the period from 1765 to 1775, Jiang Shiquan （ 1725 - 1785 ） reached the peak of his opera creation. He moved from one academy to another in the areas of Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, and created five operas during this period. The formation of Jiang Shiquan＇ s creating peak in his mid-age has some objective causes besides his early frustrations and sufferings, and his complicated mentality after returning to the south.
