The publication of The Ancient Society written by Morgan won high praise from Karl Marx and Friederich Engles. Morgan＇s great contributions laid the foundation for Engles to finish The Origins of Family, Private Ownership and Nation. Al- though different methodologies have been applied in the two books respectively, the two writers managed to reveal historical mate-rialism of Marxism successfully.
