Chinese Professional Translators' Dilemma Based on SWOT Model and Countermeasures

在翻译服务产业向市场化和职业化发展进程中,我国翻译市场缺乏行之有效的行业管理,译员的生存状况堪忧。基于SWOT模型的译员所面临的职业困境及译员自身的优势与劣势,面临的外部机会与威胁。应树立法治意识和权利意识,运用法律武器维护译员的合法权益;建立健全翻译服务行业准入制度,严把翻译服务从业入门关;积极推广实施翻译服务行业国家标准和行业规范;译员需要不断提高自己的职业道德和职业技能。

During the process of Chinese translation industry oriented towards the trend of marketization and pmles- sionalization, Chinese translators are living in a professional dilemma due to the lack of effective industry regula- tion. Based on the SWOT model, this paper makes an analysis of professional translators＇ dilemma, their strengths and weaknesses, and opportunities and threats as well. Countermeasures are also proposed as follows： to cultivate their law consciousness and rights consciousness and to safeguard their legitimate rights by wielding the weapon of law; to establish a sound translation industry access system and to least, to continuously tation of the national standards and industry improve professional translators＇ ethics and strictly control its operational process; to actively standards for translation service; last but not the skills.
