This paper introduces the working principle of 3 d laser scanning technology, and it focuses on the 3 d laser scanning techniques of data acquisition, processing, the modeling process and method by combining the actual burial protection engineering, it also summarizes the advantages and the ex- isting problems of 3d scanning technology to provide new technical support for digital archaeology and historic preservation.
