教授治学的理念与实现路径——纽约大学依靠教职工的经验和启示

摘要 "教授治学、学术自治"是现代大学治理的基本方式。实现这一理念的路径选择是多样的。本文以纽约大学为样本,阐述了教授治学的理念和路径,即学术自治是现代大学运行的基础,维护和发展教师权益是大学发展的基础,程序保障则是实现教授治学的基本方式,对我国现代大学制度的建设具有借鉴意义。 "Faculty - led academic governance and academic autonomy" is fundamental to the administration of modem uni- versities. While to implement this philosophy, there are various paths. Taking New York University as a sample, this paper ana- lyzes the philosophy and implementation of faculty - led academic governance from three aspects : academic autonomy is funda- mental in the'operation of modem universities, safeguarding and developing teachers'rights and interests is essential for the development of universities, and procedural safeguards is the basic mode of implementing faculty - led academic governance, all of which are of great reference significance in developing China's modem university system.
