Work Hard to Keep the Coordinated Development of Hydropower Construction with Environmental Protection and Soil and Water Conservation

云南金沙江中游水电开发公司在金沙江中游梯级水电开发中,首次组建了由企业负责的金沙江中游流域环境保护监测管理中心;真抓实干,主动环保,开展环境保护专题研究,积极落实流域及电站环境保护措施;转变观念,主动抓好环保"三同时"工作。经过6年多的艰苦努力,建设项目影响区的生态环境得到了有效保护,水土流失得到了有效防治,实现了水电开发与环境保护的可持续协调发展。

In the development of hydropower resources in the middle reaches of Jinsha River, the Jinsha River Basin Environmental Protection Monitoring and Management Center is set up by Yunnan Jinsha River Hydropower Co., Ltd. which is a first example of an environmental protection agency being charged by an enterprise in China. The special studies on environmental protection are actively carried out and the watershed and power plant environmental protection measures are initiatively implemented. The concepts of environmental projection are changed and the ＂three simultaneous＂ of environmental protection are actively implemented. After more than six years＂ hard work, the ecological environment of the affected area of construction project has been effectively protected, soil erosion has been effectively prevented and treated, and the coordinated and sustainable development of hydropower development with environmental protection is achieved.
