The Research of the Sports Items Setting to the Sustainable Development of the Asian Games

通过历史变迁的视角分析亚运会项目设置特征及其发展趋势,探讨由其引发的对亚运会可持续发展挑战等问题,并提出相应对策。从历史发展维度看,亚运会项目设置呈现出项目规模急遽增长、项目内容始终以奥运项目为主,表现出日益多元化趋势的特征。亚运会项目设置的这些特征与趋势对亚运会可持续增长提出了系列挑战,如规模的急遽增长引致亚运会超大规模,使主办国不堪重负,成绩两极分化严重、受关注度不足等。针对这些挑战,在亚运会项目设置时可采取严格控制项目规模,适当排除观赏性差、商业价值低的比赛项目,保持体育强势板块与弱势板块的均衡发展,加大亚洲区域特色的民族传统体育项目设置,注重观赏性强和商业运作基础好的项目等方式。

From the perspective of history, the research analyzes the characteristics of sports i- tems setting and development of the Asian Games. Also, it discusses what problems sports items setting will influence on the sustainable development of the Asian Games and give the cor- responding solutions. The main points of the research as follows .. the scale of sports items set- ring has been grown rapidly, sports items of the Asian Games have always been the same as the main items of the Olympic Games, and sports items setting has been trending to be diversi- fied. The above characteristics and trends of sports items give a series of challenges to the sus- tainable development of the Asian Games. Therefore, sports items setting should be controlled strictly. Some poor spectator and low commercial value sports should be eliminated so that the development of strong and weak sports will be balanced. It should set more traditional national sports and pay more attention to good spectator and high commercial value sports.
