不断丰富中国特色社会主义的实践特色、理论特色、民族特色和时代特色是新的历史条件下坚持中国特色社会主义的内在本质要求,也是推进中国特色社会主义建设事业顺利发展的动力之源。丰富中国特色社会主义"四大特色"的关键在于:着力在改革开放的实践中推进中国特色社会主义事业以丰富其实践特色;着力培育执政党的理论自觉以丰富其理论特色;着力构建中国现代化道路的特殊性选择以丰富其民族特色;着力回应若干重大时代问题的挑战以丰富其时代特色。

The constant enrichment of the practical characteristics, theoretical characteristics, national characteristics and contemporary characteristics of socialism with Chinese characteristics, is the inherent and essential demand for adhering to socialism with Chinese characteristics under the new historical conditions, as＇ well as the source of power for the promotion of successful development of the cause of building socialism with Chinese characteristics. The key elements for enriching the ＂four characteristics＂ of socialism with Chinese characteristics lie in the following aspects： focusing on advancing the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the practice of reform and opening up so as to enrich the practical characteristics; fo- cusing on building the ruling party＇s theoretical consciousness so as to enrich the theoretical characteristics; focusing on build- ing the unique choices for China＇s modernization pathway so as to enrich the national characteristics; focusing on responding to the challenges from a number of major current issues so as to enrich the contemporary characteristics.
