High altitude long-range gliding torpedo is a new concept of anti-submarine weapon which was put forward in recent years. A gliding torpedo was improved in Northwestern Polytechnical University that can attack submarines from a remote distance. The air trajectory model and the design of control law are quite important in the conceptual design stage. In the full paper, we explain the trajectory model of the gliding torpedo and the control law. In this abstract, we just add some pertinent remarks to listing the two topics of explanation. The first topic is trajectory models. Section 1 develops the three mathematical models of the first topic : aerial gliding trajectory, low altitude breaking defense trajectory and the slowing down trajectory. The second topic is the control law on the gliding torpedo and it is covered in section 2. In the second topic, the characteristics of the three sections of trajectory are pointed out and the corresponding control law of each section is put forward. Initial conditions of simulation are shown in Table 2. Finally, the whole aerial trajectory was simulated with MATLAB Simulink. The simulation results are summarized in Figs. 2 through 9. The simulation results show preliminarily that the attack range of high altitude long-range gliding torpedo and the penetration ability can indeed be realized under this control law.
