Rudyard Kipling, the first British winner of Nobel Prize for Literature, was closely related to Freemasonry all his life, which also influenced the formation of his thought. Kipling was deeply imperialistic, but his imperialism is highly idealistic, which is different from the prevailing imperialism in the late Victorian society.
