Temples and Shrines in border areas are the symbols of religious collective emotion in the region. Analyzed from a spiritual and faithful perspective, Thailand-Cambodia border conflicts reflect the accumulating influences of religious nationalism in cultural joint territory when protecting crucial temples. Since the ascription of shrines cannot come to a satisfying resolution in a short while, the alternative strategy is to pursue the positive Competitive Sharing status. Competitive Sharing of temples in border area advocates new pattern of coexistence which can be seen as a regional relation model under the name of shrine politics. This paper firstly illuminates domestic arid foreign causes of religious nationalism in temple dispute, then explores the roles religion plays in the process of border dispute, and last argues that Competitive Sharing of temples is a priority policy to obtain relative peace for a long time.
