近年来,多中心成为城市区域空间研究的热点,特别是"欧洲多中心巨型城市区域可持续发展管理"项目项目组对欧洲八个巨型城市区域多中心性质的研究成果被引入中国后,对国内该领域的研究产生了较大的影响。在"欧洲多中心巨型城市区域可持续发展管理"项目工作的基础上,着重探讨了欧洲多中心巨型城市区域理论产生的社会背景、主要特点及贡献。

In recent years, polycentricity has become a hot topic for the space research on city regions. Especially since the import of the researching result on Polyccntrism of eight megacity regions in Europe from POLYNET team to China, Polycentricity has influenced the local discussion on its theory and case analysis. This essay is basing on the work of POLY- NET, emphasizing on the discussion of the theory and social background of European Polycentric mega - city region research,the characteristics and contribution of the researches.
