Analysis on the Ganquanpu Industrial Zone Development Strategy in Urumqi, China from a Perspective of Regional Coordination

甘泉堡工业区作为乌昌一体化战略的具体落点,应从区域角度确立发展战略,综合统筹乌鲁木齐市、五家渠市和阜康市三者的竞争与合作关系,合理解决工业区与中心城之间,特别是与乌鲁木齐市中心城之间的空间关系,积极探寻符合工业区发展的行政管理体制。

Ganquanpu Industrial Zone, as a specific placement of the Urumqi-Changji Regional Urban Agglomeration Strategy, is to establish its development strategy from a regional perspective. The strategy comprehensively plans relationships among three major cities in Urumqi-Changji region as a whole, which is Urumqi, Wujiaqu and Fukang, in terms of competition and/or cooperation. It proposes rational solutions to the spatial relation between the Industrial Zone and the city centers, particularly central Urumqi. It also actively explores the possible administrative system in line with the development of the Industrial Zone.
