Research on the Relationship between Man and Nature of Dong Zhongshu

中国传统哲学中没有独立的人与自然关系论,中国历代思想家将主要精力都放在对天人关系的思考中。人、自然都是天人体系的组成部分,所以要研究人与自然的关系不可避免地要从天人关系中来梳理。汉儒董仲舒以阴阳、五行思想为工具构建了天人合一的宇宙系统,其中包含了许多合理的关于人与自然关系的思考,可以为今天的生态研究提供借鉴。

In traditional Chinese philosophy, there is no standalone theory about ＂correspondence be- tween man and nature＂. Philosophers of past ages mainly apply their mind to thinking over ＂the relation be- tween heaven and mankind＂. Man and nature are parts of ＂the system of heaven and mankind＂. So we should explore ＂the correspondence between man and nature＂ within ＂the system of heaven and mankind＂. Han scholar Dong Zhongshu constructed a universe of Heaven - Human by means of Ying - Yang and Wu - Xing theories which contains much rationale concerning man and nature. This text chiefly excavates ＂ thoughts of the relationship between heaven and man ＂ from Dong＇s system of ＂Heaven - Human＂, which seems to provide constructive reference to today＇s ecological studies.
