语篇连贯构建的认知阐释

A Cognitive Explanation of Textual Coherence

传统语言学认为,语篇连贯需要依赖表层衔接的显性手段来构建。本文作者在对众多中英文语篇分析后发现,表层的衔接手段并非是语篇连贯构建的必要条件。语篇连贯的构建在很多情况下还依赖于人类的心智体验并受到深层的认知模式的影响和制约。本文作者将讨论认知语言学中的ICM,隐喻,转喻等认知模式是如何作用于语篇连贯的构建的。

Cohesion,the main form of discoursal coherence,has traditionally been considered a grammatical and lexical device.Based on a large number of researches on various genres of Chinese and English texts,the author holds that discoursal coherence is also realized by some cognitive mechanisms such as ICM,cognitive metaphor and cognitive metonymy which have a great bearing on the construction of discoursal coherence in such a deep/implicit manner.Based upon the above analysis,the article discusses how such cognitive principles act as cohesive devices and play a role in the formation of discoursal coherence.
