Further Discussion on the Wang Gen's Thought of Doing-nothing

王艮的"无为"思想是建立在他的自然思想基础上的。他既强调"无为",又主张"有为",对此理解我们要分清他所讲的不同角度。王艮讲无为,主要是讲自然之道乃无害而善。他认为,遵从自然,并不等于"无为"。恰恰相反,他认为良知体用一原,所以作为社会人来说,必须经世济民。但他又认为,经世的基础是修身,王艮将修身与自然结合起来,主张无意无必与诚意功夫的统一,王艮的这些思想才是其"无为"思想的真正含义。

Wang Gen＇ s thought of doing - nothing is based on his natural ideological foundation. He stresses both doing - nothing and doing. To better understand this, we have to distinguish the different perspectives of what he said. Wang Gen＇ s doing - nothing is mainly on nature, which considers harmless is good. He believes that to comply with nature does not mean inaction. On the contrary, he thinks that the conscience of the body with an original, as social beings, must be approved by the world people. However, he also believes that the foundation of the world is self - cultivation, Wang Gen combines self - cultivation with nature, advocating the unity of will and sincerity of effort, which is the true meaning of doing - nothing.
