Problems of the Urban Ethnic Relations in Yunnan Province and Possible Solutions

随着云南省社会转型速度的加快,云南已进入社会矛盾和民族问题多发时期,这些多发的社会矛盾和民族问题大多集中在城市,民族问题城市化的特点日趋突出,城市日趋成为民族关系协调的重点和难点地区,民族工作的重点也应随之而向城市转移。

The paper discusses the problems of the urban ethnic relations in Yunnan Province and puts forward corresponding countermeasures in terms of ideological cognition,legal rights guarantee,urban ethnic working mechanism,community service and management.With the rapid development of industrialization and urbanization,quite a few ethnic groups have emigrated from the rural areas to cities and the population distribution has changed a lot between urban and rural areas.With the acceleration of social transition,Yunnan has been in a period when contradictions and problems occur frequently.These social contradictions and ethnic issues are centered in cities which should be the key and complicated areas in coordinating the urban ethnic relations.Ethnic problems are urbanized gradually and the emphasis of ethnic work should be turned to cities accordingly.
