A Case Study with the Cross-cultural Translation of “Apricot Village” in A Dream in Red Mansions

对于中国古典文学作品《红楼梦》,目前有两个不同的英文全译本,本文试图就两个译本中的"杏花村"的两个不同译文为例进行分析和探究,力图客观地评析两个不同的译文本,以期在目前中国古典文学大量对外译介方面,探讨如何有效地解决古典文学作品中独特文化因子的跨文化传递。

So far there have been only two complete English versions of the Chinese classic A Dream in Red Mansions.The thesis is intended to probe the two different translations of Apricot Village as a case study,tying to give an objective assessment and finding out an effective way to deal with the unique cultural factors in Chinese classics.
