Content-based Instruction（CBI） is a teaching approach of combining language and subjects.English for Special Purpose（ESP） is a language teaching form with abundance of specialized knowledge.This paper aims to explore the teaching approach of CBI and the inspiration of ESP through analyzing the theoretical basis and features of CBI and discussing the advantages and problems in ESP.
