Yan Geling represents a variety of relationships between women in her novels, which have been studied by many scholars from the perspective of ＂sisterhood＂. However, the female relationships in Yan＇ s novels take on a very unique pic- ture as far as the narration content and narration point of view are concerned. The female relationship in her novels is not consistent with the kind of ＂sisterhood＂ in the feminist criticism. What Yah Geling concerns most is to repre- sent the female aesthetic ideal of ＂Mother Earth＂ and to understand human nature.
