Catch - 22, the American Jewish writer Joseph HeUer's representative novel, manifests a disrupted "mankind- environment" relationship through the alienation of its main characters. The disrupted relationship mode and the alienation of identity caused by it deteriorate in the irrational atmosphere of absurdity of post - modern culture and develop into their post - modern variants. In the interpretative vision of ecological aesthetics, the ending of the novel implies the hope of salvation for the post - modern disaster of disruption, a possibility of the salvation by the realization of the order characterized by universal links.
