All kinds of secondary development in CATIA V5 are discussed in comparison with their characteristics.The application,especially among automotive industry,is presented in detail.The supporting of Dassault Systèmes in secondary development is also introduced.According to the scope of software requirements and application,the secondary development software is divided into three types： individual,enterprise and industry.In addition,main problems of the domestic development are concluded as well as root causes.
