However the mothering shown by the tortured and supressed mothers is abnormal, moving and tragic. The special surroundings bring up the black women＇s special characters, especailly to the American black mothers in the marginal society. They inherit and hand down the black culture with their great loyalty and strong will to their own culture, at last, become the spiritual pillar in the black society.
