Contemporary Art Casting’s Education in Guangdong

针对学生对铸造课程不感兴趣,通过讲艺术来讲铸造,在广东3所大学4个校区建立了4个艺术铸造实验室,给学生开设了《艺术铸造》课程。在激发学生学习铸造的兴趣、普及铸造基础知识上作了有益的探索,取得很好的效果。为传统的铸造课程走出一条有特色的创新之路。

Based on the practical experience of establishing four art casting laboratories in three different colleges of Guangdong, the development of contemporary art casting’s education was described. By analyzing the reason of the shortage of professionals nowadays and the characteristics of modern foundry industry in Pearl River Delta, it was tried to find out what kind of knowledge structure a modern foundry industry professional should have. Then, from the viewpoint of education, how to combine the art casting laboratory with the creative art casting course as a new teaching pattern was expounded. Finally, to attract more students to study casting technology, training them to be qualified professionals for the modern foundry industry was performed.
