A Fractal Image Compression Method with DCT Approximation

摘要 分形图像压缩是一种基于分形迭代函数系统(IFS)理论的图像压缩方法,压缩比大,但编码过程计算复杂、编码时间长.结合离散余弦变换(DCT)近似的分形图像压缩方法,提高了分形压缩中灰度变换的精度,从而达到了提高图像质量、提高压缩比和减少编码时间的目的.三种不同方法压缩标准图像的结果比较证实了新方法的优越性. Fractal image compressing is a new image compression method based on fractal Iterated Function System (IFS). Although the method can achieve high compression, it will take long time to do image coding with high computational complexity. Fractal compression method combined with Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT ) approximation improves the precision of luminance shift so that high quality, high compression and less encoding time can be achieved. Several standard images are compressed by using three different methods and the results show that the new method is better than others.
