E-reading is the resource sharing platform of the China Academic Digital Library and Information System built by the China Academic Library and Information System （CALLS）. This article makes an analysis of the application of e-reading in the joint construction and sharing of the information resources, expounds the functions and characteristics of the system, and verifies the guarantee abilities of the system and the advantages of library service through concrete examples.
