Research on the Nobel Prize in Physics:Between the Nominees and the Winners

诺贝尔物理奖是最著名的物理学奖项,中国物理界具有浓烈的诺贝尔物理奖情结。但由于受文献资料的限制,国人对该奖的了解多是极为有限的。通过统计、比较每年该奖获得者与该奖其他被提名者获得提名的次数,可以揭示出由被提名到获奖之间存在的诸多复杂现象。诺贝尔物理奖评奖委员会与该奖提名科学家之间微妙的交互作用,是产生这些现象的基本驱动力。

The Nobel Prize in physics is the best - known prize in the world. There is a strong dream to get the No- bel Prize in the Chinese community of physics. But due to the lack of sources, many Chinese people know little a- bout the Nobel Prize in physics. By doing statistics and comparison on the winners and how frequent they and others were nominated every year between 1901 - 1937 ,we can show the complicated course a person experiences from be- ing a nominee to a winner. The subtle interaction between the Award Committee of the Nobel Prize and the physi- cists as the nominators of the Nobel Prize, is the fundamental driving force.
