世界格局极化进程的持续发展不可逆转。国际形势总体缓和局部动荡，大国关系既摩擦又合作，以及经济全球化的迅速发展均为我们提供了机遇和挑战。
The author asserts that there exist both op portunitiesandchallengesatthepresenttimeandalsoforaquitelongperiodoftimeinthefuture ,thattheopportunitiesareappar entlybiggerthanthechallenges .Theauthor’smainpointsofviewareasfollows:①Thegeneraltrendofdevelopmentoftheinter nationalsituationaftertheendingoftheColdWarwouldremainthesameandwouldnotreverse .②Themultipolarprocesswouldbegoingoncontinuously,offeringbothopportunitiesandchallenges.③Theopportunitiesandchallengesofferedbyabasicallyre laxedinternationalsitutionaccompaniedwithsomeminorturmoils.④Theopportunitiesandchallengesprovidedbyagreat power relationshipwithbothfrictionandcooperation .⑤Theopportunitiesandchallengesraisedbytherapiddevelopmentofeconomic globalization .⑥Graspbetterchanceandmeetchallenges.
