“雷州”及其别名“雷阳”考释

Investigation on the Name of Leizhou and It's Alias Lei Yang

"雷州"之名始于唐贞观八年,在其得名由来之四种说法中,以得名于擎雷水之说最有说服力。"雷阳"为雷州的"郡名",是历史上约定俗成的。它常在古代的诗文和公文中使用,用以指称雷州府或雷州地区。"雷阳"名称来源于"(擎)雷水之阳"。

The name of Leizhou began in the eighth year of Zhenguan in Tang Dynasty. There are four views on the origin of the name of Leizhou. The most convincing one is that the name of Leizhou comes from a river called ＂Qinglei＂. ＂Lei Yang＂ is a county name, as a convention, being frequently used in ancient poetry and documents to refer to Leizhou Fu or Leizhou district. Lei Yang means in the north of Qinglei River.
