Discussion is done to the combing effect of the combing cylinder . Comparison is made to the combing performance regarding the advantage and the disadvantage of the combing cylinder and the top comb. Highlight is made to the impact of the process regulation including the densely set wire and the number of the hackle as well as the combing gauge on quality of the combed sliver. Comparison is made to the impact of the combing cylinders with different point density on the spinning quality. Conclusion is made that under certain circumstances, the bigger point density, the better combing effect, consequently with good index of combing sliver and the resultant yarn.
