当前图书馆实践中精神的迷失是急需解决的问题,因此有必要对"图书馆精神"进行解读。"图书馆精神"需要图书馆在实践层面上去身体力行:文化传承体现图书馆的本质,是藏与用的辩证统一,是图书馆实践的出发点;读者服务是图书馆精神的具体落实,是馆员与读者的和谐统一,是图书馆实践的落脚点;阅读是客观知识主观化的有效途径,是知识与读者的有机统一,阅读推广是图书馆实践的着力点。文化传承、阅读、服务三位一体,构成了图书馆实践的一个基本框架和走向。

The lost of spirit in current library practice is of great emergency so that we must interpret library spirit. Library spirit requires that library carry out the spirit in the practice. Cultural inheritance is the nature of library, the dialectic unity of collecting and applying and the starting point of library practice. Serving readers is the concrete practice of library spirit, the harmonious unity of librarian and readers and the standing point of library practice. Reading is the ef- fective way to realize objective information, the organic unity of knowledge and reader, and the exerting point of library practice. Cultural inheritance, reading and service form the basic structure and trend of library practice.
