喧嚣时代在美国史上具有鲜明的文学特征,因为它产生了好几位像菲茨杰拉德、海明威、福克纳的军人作家,正是他们主导了该时代小说的创作,正是他们使喧嚣时代又可称之为"迷惘的一代"和"爵士乐时代"。这些作家猎奇并运用各种艺术手段,描绘了喧嚣时代中人们的幻灭绝望、迷惘浮华、徒劳无益的精神荒原。
The Roaring Twenties provided with strikingly literary characteristics in American history because produced quite several serviceman writers like Fitzgerald,Hemingway and Faulkner.They were leading figures in fictional creation which made the Twenties also known as＂lost generation＂and ＂jazz age＂.The writers boldly experimented with various artistic forms or techniques to paint a spiritual waste land where American people experienced disillusion,despair,gaudiness and a sense of futility after WWI.
