Academic Characteristics and Dynamic Research Advances for the Major PET Centers in the World

作为目前最理想的活体分子生物学显像技术,PET研究已引起了全球广泛关注。研究范围遍及基础与临床。本文利用Internet网络获取最新资料,介绍全球主要PET中心(包括美国、加拿大、英国、德国、瑞典、比利时、意大利、日本和澳大利亚等国家的PET中心)的最新研究动态。

Nowadays, positron emission tomography (PET) is the most ideal imaging method which shows molecular biological information in the living body . In general, the global distribution of PET centers can be subdivided into three parts, that is North America; European; Japan and Australia .To show PET research conditions , we selected pioneer PET centers from each part, majority of them are the first PET facility and research centers in their area. Say , Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology in the U.S., TRIUMF PET Laboratory in Canada , Hammersmith PET center of Britain, DKFZ in Germany, Uppsala University PET center in Sweden; MEDSIP in Belgium; CNR Istituto di Fisiologia in Italy; CYRIC in Japan and Austin Hospital PET center in Australia . Then, we described their academic characteristics and detailed the recent dynamic research activities. Specifically, focusing mainly on the fields of neuroscience, psychiatry, cardiology, oncology and PET methodology. The materials we used were mainly cited from Internet, the most global information super highway that communicates the last recent advances in science. Thus, we thought this paper could reflect the forefront PET research information in the world .
