To promote the professional development of educational examinations authorities and increase their capacity for providing services is not only the requirement of implementing the National Outline for Medium- and Long -term Educational Reform and Development （2010 -2020 ） , but also an inevitable outcome of meeting the demand of social development in the future, Based on the studies of the practices of renowned examination authorities home and abroad, the paper first discusses the necessity of increasing professionalization of examination authorities Then by analyzing the recent trends of development in education as well as the tasks and objectives of the reform on examination and admission systems in our country, the paper further points out what we should do topromote the professional development of examination authorities and how we could achieve those aims.
