契丹文典故“人生七十古来稀”

A Study on a Literary Quotation in Khitan Script: "A man seldom lives to be seventy years old"

现已发表的契丹小字《耶律详稳墓志》主人与新近发现的契丹小字《耶律太师墓志铭》主人具有父子关系。后者所见一条契丹文典故,可能出自著名诗人杜甫的"曲江二首"中之"人生七十古来稀"。通过这条典故的解读,可以探究有关契丹语动词附加成分,并可释读表示"稀"、"谓"等契丹小字。

The relation between the tomb owners of the Epitaph of Yelu Xiangwen and the Epitaph of Yelu Taishi, both in Khitan Small Script, is that of father and son. The former has been already published and the latter was discovered recently. In the author＇s opinion, a literary quotation in the latter was probably quoted from ＂On the Qujiang River＂, a poem by Du Fu, a distinguished Chinese poet, and its Chinese equivalent should be ＂A man seldom lives to be seventy years old＂. Through interpreting this literary quotation, relevant verbal suffixes and the blocks in Khitan Small Script denoting ＂seldom＂ as well as ＂say＂ can be deciphered.
