A Biography of Deng Xiaoping is the master work of biography literature for Han Shanbi, a Hong Kong writer of Hainan origin. Thanks to the democratic and free atmosphere in Hong Kong, Han Shanbi makes ev- ery effort to be objective, authentic, fair and impartial in his writing of a biography of Deng Xiaoping. In his writ- ing, Han Shanbi not only relates Deng Xiaoping＇ s tortuous life but also shows Deng Xiaoping＇ s human nature and tender feelings coupled with a review of Deng Xiaoping＇ s life, which reveals Han＇ s courageous pursuit of the truth.
