Cultivation of Intercultural Communication Competence in English Teaching for Polytechnic College Students

本文从高职院校英语教学目的以及中西方文化差异出发,阐述了高职院校英语教学中培养学生跨文化交际能力的重要性和必要性,指出英语教学不仅应注重语言技能的培养,还应注重培养学生实际使用语言的能力。本文还进一步探讨了在高职英语教学中,培养学生跨文化交际能力的一些策略和方法。

Based on the English teaching objectives of poly- technic colleges and the cultural differences between China and western countries, this paper tries to analyze the necessity in developing students＇ intercultural communication compe- tence. It points out that English teaching should focus not only on language skills hut also on the practical communicative a- bilities. This paper also puts forward some constructive sugges- tions on the cultivation of students＇ intercultural communication competence in terms of polytechnic English teaching.
