Ensuring the Quality of Compulsory Education in Pastoral Areas through Scientific Development of Education

甘南藏族自治州玛曲县地处甘肃省西南部,是藏民族聚居的纯牧业县。玛曲县教育底子薄弱,广大牧民群众文化素质不高,思想观念落后,学生辍学现象普遍。为了充分发挥学校的教育功能,整体提高教育质量,玛曲县委、县政府、县教育局、各级各类学校倾注全力,实施了一系列行之有效的措施,使玛曲县的教育站在一个新的发展的历史起点上。

Maqu County of Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefec- ture is located in the southwest of Gansu Province, which is a pure animal husbandry county of the Tibetan minority. The ed- ucation foundation of Maqu County is weak, and herdsmen＇s culture quality is not high, so student dropout is a common phenomenon. In order to give full play to the educational func- tion of school, the government has carried out a series of ef- fective measures, which make the education course of Maqu County stand at a new historical starting point.
