The Interpretation of Xie Touba's Thoughts on Realism Art Education

谢投八作为福建现代美术教育的先驱,在逾半世纪默默无闻的美术教育实践中,始终坚定现实主义美术教育思想,培养出许多优秀的人才,对整个福建现代美术的发展进程作出重要的贡献。其现实主义美术教育思想主要体现在四个方面:一、坚持现实主义的写实观;二、提倡兼容并蓄、自由开放的艺术精神;三、重视素描基本功教育;四、注重文化素质全面发展的师范教育。

As a pioneer of the educator for contemporary arts in Fujian province, Xie Touba had been in- sisting on applying his thoughts on realism art education in his more half-a-century teaching practice. He had trained a great number of excellent artists and made important contributions to the development of comtempo- rary arts in Fujian province. His thoughts are shown in four aspects： 1. persisting in realistic attitude towards arts ; 2. advocating inclusive, free and open spirit of arts ; 3. laying stress on training basic skills of sketches ; 4. attaching importance to teacher＇s education of all-round development of cultural quality.
