近代中国方志流散美国的特点是数量大、种类多、版本精,涵盖中国各个时代各个区域,体例涉及各个类别的方志。有些方志国内无存,有些仅存其目。近代中国方志流散美国的途径主要是捐赠、官方收集等。近代中国方志不仅大量流散美国,而且还流散到日本、韩国、澳大利亚以及欧洲等国家。但由于各种原因,至今我们都无法完全知晓中国地方志究竟有多少种多少卷流散于多少国家,因此加强方志文献资源建设刻不容缓。

The features of modem Chinese chronicles spread in America are numerous, varied, fine edition, covering various dynasties and regions of China and concerning every style. Some of those chronicles do not exist in our country, others only have the catalogues. Ways of modem Chinese chronicles spread in America are multi- formed, mostly by donating and official collecting, etc. Modem Chinese chronicles are spread not only in America, but also in Japan, Korea, Australia and European countries. However, for all kinds of reasons, so far we can＇t completely know how many volumes of Chinese Chronicles are spread in foreign countries. So improving construc- tion of chronicle literature resource must be done without delay.
