In more than 40 years history ot dealing with ~too,e key concept and its language used in U. N. documentation~" indigenous peoples" has been translated into two Chinese words: native people (Tuzhurenmin) and native ethnic groups ). In addition, the phenomenon of mixing up " native " (Tuzhu) and (Tuzhuminzu (Yuanzhumin) confused Chinese academics and the medias for a long time. This "indigenous" paper tries to distinguish the above two usages by simplified semantic analysis in three ways : the origin, the scope of the users, and the extend of the references.
