On the Cultivation of Students' Humanistic Perceptiveness by Selected Readings of English Newspapers and Magazines

英语报刊选读课具有非常鲜明的人文性特点,在教学过程中应该强调其独具的人文性和思想性,通过提供鲜活时新的、有争议的新闻案例,从人文视野的角度着重培养学生的批判性思辨能力、全球化视野、主流价值观和公民意识,使学生成为不仅具有专业技能,而且拥有丰富人文精神的人。

This paper explores in what aspects that students＂ humanistic perceptiveness could be attained by taking the course of Selected Readings of English Newspapers and Magazines, pointing out that the humanistic and ideological perceptiveness of the course should be stressed to help students cultivate their critical thinking, global vision, mainstream values and civic consciousness which are essential to the technical and humanistic integration of the students by providing fresh, lifesome and disputable news for discussing and debating.
