From Modern to Post-modern： The Transformations of the Modes of 20^th Century American Visual Arts Education

20世纪的美国视觉艺术教育受到美国社会、文化、教育等各方面的影响,先后经历五种模式的变迁与更替:注重设计的视觉艺术教育,创造性自我表现视觉艺术教育,以日常生活为核心的视觉艺术教育,以学科为基础的艺术教育,视觉文化艺术教育。这五种模式的更替展现了20世纪美国视觉艺术教育从现代主义走向后现代主义的发展脉络。

Influenced by American society, culture, education and the like, the modes of the 20^th century American visual arts education underwent five transformations, namely, visual arts education with emphasis on design, visual arts education stressing creative self-expression, visual arts education centering around everyday life, an art education based on relevant dis-ciplines and an art education in visual culture. These five transformations of the modes reveal the developmental path of the 20^th century American visual arts education from modernism to post-modernism.
