摘要
逻辑转喻因其句法结构和语义理解的不一致性吸引了学者们的关注。本文基于语言的使用观和认知观,探讨逻辑转喻的认知属性及其认知机制。逻辑转喻本质上是认知的,是概念转喻与句法结构相互作用的结果。以心理上的完形和激活机制为基础,逻辑转喻可以理解为充当论元的实体名词作为事件框架中的一部分激活整个事件框架,这为逻辑转喻的意义理解提供心理可及。
Logical metonymy has attracted linguists＇ attention due to the non-correspondence between syntactic structure and its seman- tic interpretations. Following the principle that language is usage-based, this article explores the nature and the mechanism of logical metonymy. Based on the motivation from psychology, it is argued that logical metonymy results from both cognitive mecha- nism and linguistic system. The entity noun as an argument in logical metonymy activates a whole event frame in which the noun is involved. This activation process provides mental access for the semantic interpretation of logical metonymy.
