Created in 2011 Context： Created for the 60th anniversary of the Ensemble＇s forma- tion Dancing Between Heaven and Earth comprises over 20 song and dance items from Tibetan, Uygur, Mongolian, Zhuang, Korean, Yi and other etlmic groups. The program includes Girls from Da- bancheng, Arirang, Folk Songs Are like Spring Water, On Beijing＇s Golden Hill and other classic folk songs. Though built on the foun- dation of authentically pure and simple ethnic music, this gala per- formance also uses hip-hop, R ＆ B, Rock, Jazz and other interna- tionally popular genres, fresh elements that bring visual and auditory surprises to the audience.
