On Nussbaum's Cosmopolitanism

努斯鲍姆思想中的世界主义发端于斯多葛学派。她认为,世界主义就是将对国家民族的忠诚,转移到对全人类。世界主义高于民族主义。世界主义所形成的世界公民意识,就是对全球问题抱着休戚与共的态度。她直接从人性的角度,运用能力方法构建其理论基础,提出了人至少应该具有的十种能力,她的世界主义既与斯多葛学派不同,也与近现代社会的世界主义的思想不同。努斯鲍姆思想中的世界主义在当今世界以及中国社会的发展中具有重要的现实意义。

Nussbaum＇ s cosmopolitanism stems from Stoic. In her view, cosmopolitanism means some change from the loyalty for certain country or people to the loyalty for human race. Cosmopolitanism is higher than nationalism. The thought of world citizen from cosmopolitanism means a kind of attitude of sharing the common weal and woe with global problems. Directly from human nature, she could make use of the capability approach form her theoretical basis, and put forward human at least having ten capabilities. Her thought is quite different from Stoic and modern cosmopolitanism. Nussbaum＇ s cosmopolitanism has an important realistic significance in exploring the development of present world and China＇ s society.
