万历三十四年刊行的《六朝诗乘》,是反映明代六朝诗学深化的集成之作。具体而言,在六朝诗歌史述讨论中,"晋宋并论""齐单论""梁陈延论",深入揭示了六朝诗歌发展的传统性、变异性及特质性;在六朝诗歌时代特色分析中,对"六朝诗人‘分路扬镳、殊林奋响’中形成的‘缘情绮靡’特质"的探讨,准确揭示了六朝诗歌发展的时代特质;在六朝诗体演变探讨中,对六朝优秀诗人在"古今诗体演变"中意义的凸现,部分还原了六朝诗歌演进的真实状况。毋庸置疑,梅鼎祚《六朝诗乘序》及《六朝诗乘》的编纂,及时地反映了明代六朝诗学在探讨"诗史分期""时代特质""诗体演变"等理论问题上的深化。

Poems in Six Dynasties, published in the year of Wanli thirty-four, is a classical book that reflects the intensified study of Six Dynasties poems in Ming Dynasty. In the chapter of the history of Six Dynasties poems, it involves ＂The Discussion of Poems in both Jin and Song Dynasties＂, ＂The Discussion of Poems in Qi Dynasty＂ and ＂The Discussion of Poems since Liang and Chen Dynasties＂, thus deeply re- veals the tradition, variability and peculiarity of Six Dynasties~ poems in the process of the poems devel- opment. And in the analysis of the style of the era of Six Dynasties poems, it goes deep into the poems feature of ＂Splendor and Abundance＂, which is evolved from the creative and diversified attempts of Six Dynastie~ poets and as a result of which, the style of the era of Six Dynasties poems is presented. More- over, in the discussion of the evolvement of Six Dynasties poems, the thesis highlights the significance of those excellent Six Dynasties poets and reveals, to some extent, part of the history of Six Dynasties poems. The Preface to Poems in Six Dynasties and Poems in Six Dynasties by Mei Dingzuo timely reflects the intensification of Six Dynasties~ Poem in Ming Dynasty in discussing the theory of the sepecration of poems and history, epoch traits and poetic evolution.
